Oman and the United States are engaging in discussions aimed at strengthening their economic and investment ties, with a particular focus on expanding trade, supporting Omani exports, and attracting American investment. This initiative was highlighted during a meeting between Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, and representatives of the Oman Trade Office in the United States, who were visiting Oman.
The talks concentrated on the achievements and future plans of the Oman Trade Office, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for economic collaboration between the two nations. A key aspect of the discussions was increasing access for Omani products in the US market, which could potentially boost Oman’s export economy.
Efforts are also being made to attract American investments to Oman, with both sides exploring new areas of trade cooperation. This approach signifies a mutual interest in deepening economic relations and enhancing bilateral trade, which reached approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026.
Currently, major Omani exports to the United States include chemicals and aluminium, while key US exports to Oman consist of vehicles and transport equipment. These trade dynamics underscore the importance of the ongoing dialogue in identifying and leveraging new opportunities for economic growth between the two countries.
