In a separate development, Senator Richard Blumenthal has voiced criticism against the US Postal Service concerning a newly implemented system intended to manage the processing of millions of mail-in ballots as the midterm elections approach. Blumenthal highlighted that issues raised by a whistleblower regarding the system have not been sufficiently addressed. According to reports, the whistleblower warned that technical issues with the scanning system could lead to the rejection of entire batches of ballots.
Responding to these concerns, the Postal Service stated that it was in the process of reviewing the flagged issues, asserting that the federal ballot mail system had been meticulously developed over several months in compliance with court orders. Despite this, Blumenthal dismissed the Postal Service’s response, insisting that voters require stronger assurances to ensure their ballots are both delivered and accurately counted.
